If I could give this school 0 stars, I would. I agree completely with Brad Spencer's comment. THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL FOR LITTLE BLACK BOYS. The staff is absolutely RACIST even some of the black teachers ( MS. Hunt). My brother attends the school and has repeatedly been suspended for things like, "calling out, standing out of line when lining up" . The suspensions have caused him to miss school and fall behind in work. Another (WHITE) child spat and physically put his hands on my younger brother but he was consoled and my little brother was sent to the office and when he got upset that he was the only one in trouble THEY CALLED FOR HIM TO BE SENT TO A PSYCH WARD WHERE THEY WOULD HAVE KEPT HIM. After taking him to a regular DR for being kicked in the face and smacked by the other child, every (3) physician we spoke to was FURIOUS THAT THE SCHOOL WOULD EVEN SUGGEST THAT, ADVISED US TO SUE, AND FILE FOR AN APPEAL TO THE SUSPENSION. In another instance, before he had to switch classrooms/teachers because A BLACK TEACHER (Ms.HUNT) would call my mother everyday and he would be suspended constantly, the teacher claimed my brother said something that we know doesnt even sound like him and she claims he hit her. (my brother is very playful, but he not stupid....my mom dont play tht) . Ms. Hunt changed what he said and after I went to the school and asked her about it, she tells the school that I threatened her and now they claim I'm banned from school grounds. THANKFULLY, I had already suggested my mom should sue..........so I recorded our conversation , them lies was gonna catch up with her. (his second teacher of the school year we went from calls home literally 4/5 times a week... to none completely) My little brother dreads going to school, from his descriptions and stories, the staff and teachers make him feel like a criminal. My brother is 8, never had an issue in school before we enrolled him here. This school is depressing him, " I just feel really sad when i go to school."/ "I feel like she did that so all the kids could laugh at me..." PROTECT YOUR LITTLE BOY!

My son goes to Lockhart. I don't fill it is the worst school but can stand some improvement. Teachers not very knowledgeable with children with special needs. There is a huge culture difference and it is very apparent with the teachers and little black boys. The staff just labels them as bad and more less tries to push them to the side...If parent will allow it... They give preferential treatment to the white kids. Sorry I am not a racist I love all people this is what I have seen and experienced. BLACK PARENTS get your kid in a better school than this. Even if you have to look into charter schools. I have tried to transfer my son to Forestville Elementary however for some reason because of all the request to transfer mine has not been approved last two years. Look at putting my son in Word of God Christian Academy or North Raleigh Academy before he get to far behind. God judgeth the people.......I Pray#####

  • I don't agree with the negative comments about Lockhart. I think Lockhart is a great school and I had a very positive experience with the school and staff. I moved here from Maryland and the first school my son went to in another county wasn't interested in helping my child with his reading delays and helping him adjust. When we moved to Knightdale and he started at Lockhart it was a breath of fresh air. The school has a very laid back and friendly environment. The teachers, faculty and principal were on board with helping my son. They kept me in the loop of any plans with his educational matters. We worked as a team and my wants and needs for my son mattered. The front office receptionist is wonderful. Ms. White the kindergarten teacher was a star she really loves her job. The Principal Mr. Kohler is also awesome. I also love the diversity. My son loved going to Lockhart. He hated the first school he went to in NC. The only reason I transferred him is because of the track out schedule; it does not work with my schedule and being a single mom can't afford the cost of track out programs. I highly recommend Lockhart and wish it was traditional so my son could remain a student there!!!!
